cover  description Everyone knows Street Fighter is famous for setting the standard for 2D fighting games, and that's what most series of Street Fighter games has spun off too. But there has also been a 3D series of Street Fighter games around for a while too going by the ''EX'' handle. The first two were released on the original Playstation, and featured some decent 3D graphics. But now the third features the 128-bit power of the PS2. It's your standard Street Fighter, but you can include up to three other people in a variety of battles that include two on two, one on three or two on one. Through several different types of battles, you'll learn to use your character teams effectively, and even unlock special team combinations that are only allow with certain character combinations! Other modes include the Arena Mode, in which you'll be able to set your battles according to the style you like to play in, with matches set up between you and three other friends, or you and the computer teaming up to go against another computer controlled character or team. It sounds rather confusing, but the game play elements are all there that will keep a veteran Street Fighter fan glued to their seat! Street Fighter Alpha Anthology cover  description Street Fighter Alpha Anthology is the collimation of classic Street Fighter Alpha titles. It includes Street Fighter Alpha, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold, Street Fighter 3, and Pocket Fighter. These games appeared on the original Playstation. Since these games are wonderfully accurate arcade ports, you'll be treated to a myriad of visuals and music that will drive fans insane with nostalgia. You'll get to see Ryu and his friends in their bland anime-styled Alpha versions, the slightly more detailed designs and animation of Alpha 2, and the incredibly vivid presentation of the massive roster from Alpha 3. Street Fighter Anniversary Collection cover  description Throughout the years, Street Fighter has become the mold for which most all fighters have been cut. This collection consists of two ported Street Fighter games: Hyper Street Fighter II and Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike. In Street Fighter II, the player can pick between several speeds. Depending on the player's choice, he or she can decide the pace of the game. The game features the same great characters that people remember years ago. Each character has their pros and cons, but as usual, Ken and Ryu remain the majority's choice. Ken and Ryu are perhaps the most balanced characters in the game, but I have seen skilled players use Zangief or Dhalsim with utter flawlessness. Street Fighter involves a lot of strategy and skills. There are different skill levels, and depending on your skill level could determine how much fun you will have. It will always be more fun and competitive when you are playing someone of the same caliber. Third Strike in many ways is similar to Street Fighter II, so my time on Third Stike's gameplay will be somewhat brief. While Third Strike is similar in many ways, there are also some noticeable differences. For example, Third Strike features a new and larger cast of characters. A few fan favorites like Chun Li, Ken, and Ryu remain, but almost everyone else is different. The same strategy applies to Third Strike, but for the most part, the core mechanics are improved and feels much tighter. In Third Strike, there are specials that allow you to do extra damage. For example, Ken throws a stronger fireball by doing the hadoken special twice. Vampire: Darkstalkers Collection cover  description The Vampire series, better known to Americans as Darkstalkers, has always played second fiddle to its big brother, Street Fighter. At least that's always been the case outside of Japan. Luckily for the the Japanese that isn't the case as Vampire: Darkstakers Collection gives this series the Street Fighter Alpha Anthology treatment. This collection has all of the games in the Vampire series in one disc, two of which have never made it outside of the land of the rising sun. At its core, this collection is very much like Street Fighter Alpha Anthology. It's got all the games in the series and they are arcade perfect. There are secrets and unlockables which include Capcom art and and fan art for you to enjoy. While that's all fine and good the main attractions here are the Vampire games. Like I said, they are all arcade perfect with every frame of animation in tact. The graphics are colorful and vibrant while the music is dark and moody. Think of a gothic Street Fighter Alpha with monster movie characters and you get the idea. The only thing that purists will scoff at is a loading screen which is almost non-existent. The PS2 handles the game with almost no noticeable load time. Download: Code:
